A growing concern can be seen on all the parents’ faces —-You might ask why are all of them concerned? The answer lies in the diminishing individuality and personality of their children. They are concerned that amidst rows of exams, competitions etc., the very true self of their children: their true identity and individuality is lost.

They do not ponder about things around them. Instead, their prime focus is only to get good marks in their exams. JBM Smart Start recognizes this fact and understands very well that each child is unique. Every child requires holistic development, and for that, the personality development of the child is quite important.

Children must not forget their wisdom, intuition, skills, and other virtues and talents they possess. Just winning medals or getting good marks alone would not take them up the ladder of success, instead of their identity; the kind of human beings they are, their behavioral pattern, conversation skills, moral values like integrity, empathy, generosity, and honesty also play a pivotal role in shaping the course of their lives.

There are many activities beyond academics, such as Circle time, Energy bites, Canvas Time, Dance and Music, Theatre, etc., wherein our little ones hone their skills. To bring this into effect, our school follows the strategy of Acceptance, Acknowledgement, and Appreciation. At the onset, our first step is towards Acceptance which is holding hands.

It creates a sense of love, affection, warmth, and security amongst our SMARTIES. Educators are quick to respond to the toddler’s needs. They show them care and comfort and make them believe that they are a haven to explore the world and always have a safe place to come back.

Another step is wandering and wondering. The Usual understanding of education is to be attentive and stay focused in the class only. Here at JBM, we go beyond this and let the children wander and wonder to perceive the world around them in a new manner; their minds become capable of picturing various nuances and conjure vivid situations to enhance their creativity.

Our SMARTIES are groomed to be confident individuals. They learn to value themselves, and their efforts are always praised and acknowledged at JBM.

Later in life, they need to make decisions there; they need to learn to take care of themselves and be confident whenever they encounter an obstacle. We at JBM teach them to be self-reliant for self-relations.

The self-esteem of Self-esteem is above all. Acknowledging children’s positive behaviors has a positive impact on their lives; they maintain; relations with peers, follow their elders’ instructions, manage anger, communicate appropriately, and comprehend new skills, most importantly self-care skills.

A child puts his heart and soul into the work he/she does; not appreciating or acknowledging his/her efforts will create sorrow and unfulfillment in a child. The desire to work and create is affected by this.

Thus, it becomes essential to appreciate a child’s efforts, even if he/she is unable to succeed; we as teachers recommend the parents to always cheer up their children for every task they do or try to do in the course of their learning period.

If a child does not get an incentive to learn and work, he/she might not even be interested in reading or learning that topic or subject. A parent who utters words of appreciation gains the trust of his/her children.
